Everton took out their early-season frustrations on AFC Bournemouth in what was still a tight encounter, and the Toffees had to dig deep to get a 2-1 win over one of the Premiership’s current doormats.

It's been a very bad start for Liverpool's other club, having lost four league matches on the trot.

This one had all the signs of their losing control, too.

First, there was a dual clean sheet at the intermission, and then, in the 49th minute, the Cherries' Joshua King opened the scoring.
